This is a photo of a regular family in Malaysia, celebrating the first day of Hari Raya.
Isn't it lovely?

No, wait, hold up — there's something in the corner.

Hmmmm.
Spotted wood owl
In an Apr. 1 video, TikTok user jazli.ai posted about the feathery interloper.
"Someone stopped by on the first day," she wrote in the caption.
The clip showed the family gathered in the living room, while the owl observed the scene coolly from its perch atop the curtain rail.
It appeared unfazed by the bustle of activity on the ground.

The creature in question appears to be a spotted wood owl.
A species native to Southeast Asia, it can also be found in Singapore, where it's the second most common large owl after the buffy fish owl.
It is urban-adapted and can be found in parks, particularly those with large trees, according to Birds of Singapore.
Or the odd Raya gathering, apparently.
