China court auctions 100 tonnes of live crocodiles from S$740,000, no delivery provided
No takers so far.
A China court has put 100 tonnes of live crocodiles on the auctioning table.
According to local media, the crocodiles were originally owned by a company started by China's "Crocodile God", Mo Junrong.
Living up to the moniker, more than 100 tonnes of crocodiles were confiscated after the company had their assets liquidated.
According to South China Morning Post, the auction started on Mar. 10 and will last till May 9.
Interested buyers, apart from having to possess the relevant paperwork to own these crocodiles, must also handle their own delivery.
Which means they will have to come pick up their purchases themselves.
There have been no bids so far.
Given that a crocodile weighs about few hundred kilogrammes each, 100 tonnes of the reptile represents about a few hundred crocodiles.
