SDA plans on walkabouts at Pulau Ubin: 'If there's a resident there, we will go'
New walking grounds.
Desmond Lim and his Singapore Democratic Alliance (SDA) team conducted a walkabout at houses near the Tanah Merah Besar Lane, and the Jalan Pernama Estate on Apr. 6, 2025.
Giving a doorstop interview after the Tanah Merah Besar Lane walkabout, Lim spoke about the need to inform residents who were from other constituencies in previous years, for example East Coast GRC, that they are now part of the new Pasir-Ris Changi GRC.
When asked if they were planning to do walkabouts at Ubin, which is part of the new Pasir Ris Changi GRC, Lim answered emphatically:
"Yes, Ubin, if there's a resident there we will go, anywhere if there's a resident there that we have to serve, we will go.
Rain or shine, or across the sea."
Similarly in 2020, Terence Tan of the WP went down to meet residents there during the GE.
Pulau Ubin was then part of East Coast GRC.
Talks with WP is also still going on, and SDA will share more about the talks when the time is right, Lim said.He was similarly tight-lipped when it came to introducing new candidates, saying the media, and the general public, will know on Nomination Day.
