I got my hands on Oreo’s newest Space Dunk cookies & was sent to 'space'

I’ve dunked Oreo cookies in milk. I’ve dunked them in chocolate too.

But I never thought I’d be dunking into the Milky Way.

To mark the launch of its new Space Dunk cookies, Oreo went intergalactic with a historic-first, space-themed experience.

What better way to push Oreo's spirit of playfulness than by dunking the cookie into the biggest milk bed of all?

The cookies come with galaxy-inspired designs and a brand new flavour.

More than just a snack, Oreo says the cookies are meant to spark curiosity and wonder — the same feelings space has always inspired.

New flavour that sends you to space

I got to try their new limited-edition flavour, ‘Spaceburst Cream.’

To say the least, I couldn’t stop opening a new packet after I was done with one.

As the name suggests, the flavour is designed to evoke the sensation of eating a cookie in space.

The Spaceburst Cream has a subtle cooling sensation — if you are someone who’s into this, give it a try.

Five Galactic-themed Designs

The Oreo Space Dunk cookies also features five galactic-themed designs embossed on the cookies:

• Rocket
• Helmet
• Telescope
• Star Gaze
• Shooting Star

Each design has varying rarities, with the Shooting Star design being the rarest.

Oreo Milkyway Dunk launch event

While sending a cookie off to space sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, the launch event was very much real.

And it was an absolute blast (pun intended).

Oreo partnered up with marketing agency, Sent Into Space, to celebrate the launch of the cookies.

Here’s a quick recap of how it went down:

The event first launched us into the ‘Space Tunnel’ where we were greeted with astronauts:

Followed by a trip into the ‘Dunk Space Station,’ where we could enjoy different unique ways to enjoy Oreo cookies.

Oreo smoothie, cake pop and mousse to list a couple.

Finally, I got to be immersed into space at the ‘Space Dome’ where I floated in a simulated Milky Way:

Those who bought the Space Dunk cookies can also experience the Milky Way virtually.

From April to June 2025, you can participate in a game where you get to dunk Oreo cookies into the Milky Way via the QR code on the cookie pack.

Bonus points for those who scan the ultra-rare Shooting Star embossment, which could score you exclusive Oreo Spacedunk merch.
