GE2025: Ex-army chief David Neo says it's great to be back at Tampines, hopes to 'serve residents well'
Shaping up.
At a Hari Raya celebration at Our Tampines Hub on Apr. 12, 2025, Tampines Member of Parliament Masagos Zulkifli introduced residents to the former Chief of Army, David Neo.
Masagos told a resident that Neo would be 'joining us in Tampines' as Neo said in Chinese "I'm new here".
Also present at the event was Tampines GRC MPs Baey Yam Keng, Desmond Choo, and Koh Poh Koon. New face Charlene Chen was also at the event.
At a later doorstop, Masagos said he was happy to have 'Neo join our team'.
He also said that he hoped 'the final confirmation of the team will be made soon'.
Masagos added that Neo had been following the team to various parts of Tampines, and that he was happy Neo was getting himself familiar with the area.
Earlier on the same day, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said the PAP has "finalised" its candidates for GE2025, with over 30 new faces.
Neo could be one of those faces.
Neo also spoke at the doorstop.
He said it was great to be back at Tampines, pointing to his time at the Silver Generation office.
He also said he hoped to have a "chance to work together with everybody and to serve our residents well".
Later, the Tampines team went up on the stage and formally introduced Neo to the Tampines residents.
However, Masagos added on stage that the team that will run in Tampines GRC has not be been finalised.
Neo had earlier been seen on a walkabout with Tampines GRC MP Baey Yam Keng.
