Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has announced the Marsiling-Yew Tee lineup for the upcoming 2025 General Election comprising himself, Senior Minister of State Zaqy Mohamad, MPs Alex Yam and Hany Soh.

"I will continue to anchor the team with the rest of my teammates," said PM Wong at the People's Action Party (PAP) Limbang Branch on Apr. 12.

PM Wong thanked the Marsiling-Yew Tee residents for their support, adding:

"All these years, we've watched close ties and strong bonds with all of you. We've watched your children and even your grandchildren grow up and walk with you through life's milestones. We've worked hard to improve your lives and your living environment, from neighbourhood upgrades to support schemes and community initiatives. We've listened to you, and we've incorporated your feedback and ideas into our town plans for the next five years."

Asking residents for their continued support in the next term, the team pledged to serve their residents and stand by them to make Masiling and Yew Tee a better home for all.

PM Wong and Yam have been MPs for Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC since its formation in 2015, with Zaqy and Soh joining later in 2020.

PM Wong also said that the PAP has finalised its lineup for the upcoming 2025 General Election, and will be revealing it in the upcoming days.

Opponents

The Singapore Democratic Party and PAP appears to be going head to head this upcoming election, with SDP's secretary-general Chee Soon Juan announcing on Mar. 30 that the party will be contesting in Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC at the upcoming general election.

Yam later told media at Marsiling-Yew Tee Town Day that the PAP welcomes SDP's contest, adding that it's healthy for democracy.

SDP has contested at Marsiling-Yew Tee in the last two general elections, so it didn't come as a surprise to them, he said.

In the 2020 General Election, PAP's Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC won with a score of 63 per cent.

The constituency boundaries have not changed from the previous election in 2020.

There will be approximately 119,516 residents casting their votes for this area this year.
