The alliance has taken steps to register the alliance with the Registry of Societies, and will hold a press conference once the registration is approved.
The secretary-general of the People's Alliance for Reform (PAR), Lim Tean, announced which constituencies the alliance will contest.
Lim announced in a Facebook post that PAR will contest in 10 constituencies:
The alliance, comprising of People's Voice, the Reform Party, and the Democratic Progressive Party, has taken steps to register the alliance with the Registry of Societies, and will hold a press conference once the registration is approved.
"We are the voters to take back what belongs to you," Lim concluded.
The PAR
The People's Alliance for Reform (PAR) was formed in June 2023, comprising People's Voice, The Reform Party, People's Power Party, and the Democratic Progressive Party.
The formation of the alliance was announced in posts on the Facebook pages of the parties involved.
"We have heeded the calls of Singaporeans and decided that the time for talking about opposition unity without the formation of an alliance, is long past," the posts read.
"We are agreed on the most critical issues affecting prosperity of our people and country in the coming decades. We have a ready manifesto to take the country for the next General Election," the parties stated in the posts.
However, on Feb. 23, People's Power Party (PPP) withdrew from the alliance.
In a Facebook statement on Feb. 22, PPP said it has always been "actively advocating for greater unity among opposition parties since [its] establishment in 2015" and pushed for an opposition alliance in 2020.
Citing "irreconcilable strategic differences for GE2025", PPP said that its withdrawal would ensure the alliance could continue functioning as "an effective political force in the upcoming GE without unnecessary disruptions" that might arise from the parties' fundamental strategic differences.
"PPP wishes PAR all the best in GE2025 and we are open for future collaboration with PAR should the opportunities arise," said the party.
