The woman, Qian Qian, died on Mar. 24 of a sudden cardiac arrest, her mother told Shanghai Daily.

Born at turn of millenium

Qian Qian had earned the moniker of "millenium baby" as she was born on the stroke of midnight at the turn of the new millenium, Jan. 1, 2000.

Based on local media reports at the time, Qian Qian's mother, Yue, had gone into labour since 3pm on Dec. 31, 1999 at a hospital in Changzhi city, Shanxi province.

However, the infant was only born nine hours later, at 00:00, as medical staff in the delivery room were counting down to the year 2000.

She was named "Qian Qian" (in Mandarin, "thousands of thousands") — a name that carried the significance of her birth date and embodied her parents' expectations for her, Sin Chew Daily reported.
