Tow trucker explains how car turned turtle in Woodlands, driver stepped on gas instead of brakes

A tow trucker in Singapore has shared what he said was the explanation given to him by the husband of the driver whose car turned turtle in a Woodlands multi-storey car park.

The TikToker, @ghxst..t, who posted the video on Jun. 5, said he had spoken to the car owner while they were in the tow truck on the way to a workshop after the car had been flipped back over.

Wife misjudged the pedals

According to the tow trucker, the man told him that his wife had been driving the car and was on the way to send their children to tuition.

“She was rushing off [lah] to send the kids to tuition,” he said.

He added that she allegedly misjudged the pedals when reaching the ramp, and stepped on the accelerator instead of the brakes.

The tow trucker claimed that the car then hit the kerb, mounted it, and overturned.

“At a speed where it’s enough to overturn a car due to its, uh, momentum,” he added.

He further explained that the rear bumper allegedly hit the right side of the wall before the car came to rest on its left side, which was why photos of the incident showed the car lying on the left side of the ramp.

Husband was “devastated”

The tow trucker also said the husband appeared affected by what had happened, during the ride to the workshop.

“Throughout the journey he was devastated, I would say,” he said.

The tow trucker added that the cost of recovering and towing the car was not cheap, but the husband still paid it.

He ended the video by saying he hoped the explanation clarified some of the questions people had about the incident.

The tow trucker’s explanation drew a number of amused reactions from TikTok users, with several commenters focusing on the fact that the children still went for tuition after the accident.

Car overturned at Woodlands multi-storey car park

The incident happened at about 6:50pm on Jun. 2, 2026, at a multi-storey car park at Block 622A Woodlands Drive 52.

Photos of the car lying on its side in the car park had circulated online, leading some commenters to question how a car could have overturned in such a tight space.

The car was believed to have self-skidded, and the 41-year-old driver sustained injuries but refused conveyance to hospital.

She is assisting with investigations, and police investigations are ongoing.
