Japanese man, 66, arrested for allegedly fatally strangling son, 11

A 66-year-old man in Japan was arrested on May 31 in Narita City for allegedly killing his 11-year-old son in their apartment.
According to TV Asahi, Toshihiko Yoshii was accused of strangling his son, Taisei, on May 27.
The police stated that Taisei's principal lodged a report on May 29, after informing them that the boy had not gone to school since Wednesday.
The school also visited the family's apartment, but there was no response.
When police officers arrived at the apartment, they found both the father and son lying on a futon bed.
Taisei was declared dead, and it was determined that he had been dead for several days.
TV Asahi reported that the father was arrested after admitting to strangling his son.
The police are investigating the motive.
