Motorists advised to avoid roads near Shangri-La S'pore during summit from May 28-31

The 23rd Shangri-La Dialogue will be held in Singapore from May 29 to 31 at Shangri-La Singapore.

As part of security operations, the police will conduct security checks on vehicles in the vicinity of the hotel during the event period.

Traffic arrangements

Motorists are advised to avoid the surrounding roads of Shangri-La Singapore, including Anderson Road and Orange Grove Road, from May 28 to 31.

The police advised using Scotts Road if proceeding to Stevens Road from Tanglin Road, or Orchard Road from Stevens Road, or Balmoral Road from Tanglin Road.

They added that motorists should use Draycott Park or Draycott Drive if going to Ardmore Park.

There is no through road between Ardmore Park lamp post 8 and Anderson Road from 11pm on May 28 to 5pm on May 31.

Entry for commercial vehicles with vehicle registration plates starting with “G”, “W”, “X” or “Y” into Anderson Road will be restricted.

Hotel guests

Hotel guests are advised to take public transport or plan for alternative transport arrangements, including taxis and ride-hailing services.

Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced.

Vehicles found parking illegally or causing obstruction will be towed.

Temporary Restricted Area

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) will be establishing a Temporary Restricted Area (TRA) over Shangri-La Singapore over three days.

The TRA boundary will be based on a 1km radius from Shangri-La Singapore and will be in effect during the stipulated dates and timings.

Here are the timings when the TRA will be enforced:

Singapore Police Force

The conduct of aerial and unmanned aircraft activities within and into the TRA is prohibited and is an offence.

Any contravention of regulations constitutes an offence under the Air Navigation Act.

Offenders shall be liable to a jail term of up to two years, a fine of up to S$50,000, or both, for the first offence, and a jail term of up to five years, a fine of up to S$100,000, or both for the second and subsequent offence.
