An accident along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) involving two cars and a motorcycle on May 29 resulted in the male motorcyclist, aged 23, being conveyed conscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

The police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the accident, which occurred in the direction of Woodlands Checkpoint, at about 9pm.

Footage shared to social media apparently showed the driver, who hit the motorcyclist, laughing in the wake of the accident.

What happened?

According to dashcam footage, the accident took place on the rightmost lane of the expressway towards the Causeway.

A Mercedes travelling on the second right-most lane hit a motorcycle on the right-most lane.

The motorcycle then collided into the back of a stationary white car.

When the driver of the Mercedes opened his door, he was filmed laughing, according to a video post-accident.

He was scolded by the person filming: "You still laugh ah?"

The driver was then seen heading over to where the motorcyclist had fallen.

The accident apparently caused traffic to build up.

Police investigations are ongoing.
