A four-digit number has appeared as the first-prize winning number three times in the span of three months.
"1516" was the first-prize winning number in three draws: Feb. 7, Feb. 25 and May 27.
The number had not appeared as a first- or second-prize winner from 1999 to 2025, according to the Singapore Pools website.
Prior to 2026, the third prize was its highest placing, seen in draws on Mar. 8, 2008 and Aug. 29, 2010.

"1516" was a starter prize-winning number in 10 instances and was a consolation prize three times.
From 2023 to 2025, the number disappeared from prize lists and only made a comeback in February 2026.
According to Shin Min Daily News, punters were surprised by the number's sudden improvement.
Moreover, despite winning the first prize three times, the number did not hit the sales limit.
The sales limit is a cap on the amount of bets allowed to be made on a specific number and is typically applied to popular or "hot numbers".
Industry insider says number is not linked any significant incident
An industry insider told Shin Min that the number's appearance was probably a matter of probability.
The insider said it was not considered especially popular as it was not a repeated-digit combination and had no links to any viral incidents or accidents.
The insider added that certain numbers were popular due to repeated digits resulting from temple rituals where deities would reveal four numbers.
The insider also noted that the number was not associated with any vehicle plate numbers from major traffic accidents.
