Students pay tribute
In the comments section of the post, several students expressed their grief and shared fond memories of Chia.
Some called her an "amazing teacher" while one said she was their "favourite teacher".
In a comment under Death Kopitiam Singapore's post on Chia, one former student wrote that he remembers Chia as "a truly dedicated teacher" who played a key role during his secondary school days.
"I remember her always well prepared for her lessons, putting in effort to help us understand, do our best and the many consultation sessions [together]. As we became seniors in school, she became someone we could laugh with too…chill and always approachable," he wrote.
Chia is listed in Yio Chu Kang Secondary School's organisational chart as a flexi-adjunct teacher of mathematics.
