The King of Pop was an artist whose legacy may never be rivalled in the annals of musical history.

Whether you grew up watching Michael Jackson dancing his heart out in a music video on MTV, or you’re a younger listener experiencing the magic of Michael for the first time, his music lives on.

While he may no longer be with us, you can experience the next best thing to a live Michael Jackson concert performance, right here in Singapore.

“This Is Michael”, a hit Michael Jackson tribute show, will take place at the Capitol Theatre on Jun. 5, 2026, with performances at 6:30pm and 9:30pm.

Touted as a celebration of MJ’s legendary career, the show recreates all your favourite chart-topping hits, from the gravity-defying “Smooth Criminal”, to the graveyard-hopping “Thriller”, the joyous “Black or White”, the thumping beat of “Billie Jean”, and so much more.

A true to life impresario

The main performer is Lenny Jay, a dancer, singer and tribute artist whose performance has been glowingly approved by the people who knew him best, Michael Jackson’s family, for his skills and uncanny resemblance to the late popstar.

His vocal resemblance, in particular, transports audiences back to the 1990s, and makes one feel as though they are basking in the presence of the Littlest member of the Jackson Five himself.

But in addition to Jay’s talents, there will also be musicians who have personally performed with Michael Jackson in previous tours.

Jennifer Batten, the groundbreaking guitarist who performed on MJ’s “Bad”, “Dangerous” and “HIStory” tours, personally shredding those famous riffs onstage with Michael Jackson himself, will be on the show.

Batten is famous for her guitar solo during live performances of “Beat It” and made history by appearing in MJ’s iconic Superbowl half-time performance in 1993, playing to a global audience of 1.5 billion people.

The show will also feature Don Boyette, the master bassist who performed with singers like Natalie Cole and was featured on multiple Michael Jackson world tours.

At selected stops worldwide, the original guitarist Jennifer Batten and original bassist Don Boyette will perform alongside Lenny Jay’s This Is Michael.

Your chance to experience the magic live

Audiences will be treated to live vocals and instrumental performances from a skilled international cast, and can expect the stunning choreography, lighting, costume changes and production values of a Michael Jackson spectacular.

The show will last for two hours, with around 20 of Michael Jackson’s most iconic hits. It has toured the globe, with sold out shows in Argentina, Spain, Mexico, reaching hundreds of cities in 25 countries, thrilling fans worldwide with over 500,000 tickets sold.

Singaporean fans can count themselves lucky that the tour will make a stop right here in our city, with fans from around the region sure to be flying in to soak up the vibes.
