M’sian girl dies after falling from motorcycle during suspected illegal street racing
She allegedly lost her balance and fell onto the road, suffering fatal head injuries.
A secondary school student in Malaysia died after she reportedly fell off the back of a motorcycle during a suspected street racing incident in Kajang.
The victim, believed to be a Form 3 student from Cheras Jaya Secondary School, sustained severe head injuries and later died.
According to Sin Chew Daily, the accident happened in the early hours of Apr. 16 near a row of newly-built shop lots in Taman Sutera, Kajang in Selangor.
Fell from motorcycle during suspected racing activity
Authorities said the girl had been riding pillion on a motorcycle when she allegedly lost her balance and fell onto the road.
She suffered serious head injuries at the scene.
The area where the incident took place has recently become a gathering point for illegal motorcycle racing, according to the authorities.
The authorities added that as the business area is not officially opened yet, the road in front of the shops has been used for racing.
Residents disturbed by noise from speeding motorcycles
Residents living nearby had reportedly complained about frequent disturbances caused by groups of speeding motorcycles prior to the incident.
Residents have since urged police to increase patrols in the area.
