Thai woman alleges water laced with date-rape drug was repeatedly sprayed at her face at Songkran party
She was admitted to hospital afterwards.
A Thai woman has taken to TikTok to warn the public after she alleged that she was exposed to gamma-hydroxybuturate (GHB)-laced water that was sprayed from a water gun at a club on Apr. 13.
GHB is also known as a date-rape drug that is used to take advantage of and sexually assault a person by first rendering them confused or unconscious.
According to the woman, who goes by the TikTok handle of @jeepjj, the incident purportedly occurred during a Songkran event that was held at a club called Route 66.
Did not accept any drinks from strangers
She said that she had arrived at the venue at about 10pm, began experiencing symptoms such as a seizure and foaming from the mouth at about 11pm after a drink, and arrived at the hospital at about 1am, according to The Thaiger.
The woman also said she had not accepted any drinks from strangers, that her own drink was covered with a lid and that her boyfriend had drank from the same glass without displaying any symptoms.
She also admitted that while she did not know exactly how GHB entered her body, she suspected that it was from water that had supposedly been deliberately sprayed into her face and mouth at the venue repeatedly.
Subsequently, she uploaded a screenshot of her medical certificate to social media, in response to online commentators who questioned her account.
The woman added that her medical certificate confirmed GHB was found in her body, that she is currently stable and that she had no reason to invent her story.
She added that she has since filed a police report over the incident.
