Trump requests plan, including 'risky' commando raid, to seize 453kg of highly enriched uranium in Iran: WP
Raid.
U.S. President Donald Trump has requested a plan to seize nearly 453kg of highly enriched Uranium from Iran, including what the Washington Post described as a "risky" commando raid.
The plan involves flying construction equipment and the building of a runway for cargo aircraft in order to fly out the uranium, as well as attacking nuclear storage sites like the one in the city of Isfahan, deep inside Iran.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that the U.S. military's role was to provide options for the U.S. President, and that a plan being made does not mean that Trump had made a decision on whether to execute it.
The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said that his agency believed that Iran's stockpile remains trapped under the rubble of earlier attacks, and that Iran had not been observed moving it.
According to WP, U.S. officials recently presented Iran with a 15-point proposal to end the war.
One of these proposals include by Iran relinquish its highly enriched uranium.
Iran has rejected the proposal.
They however suggested that they would be open to "dilute" the enriched material to a lower level.
