A four-year-old girl in Thailand was found dead inside a car while waiting for her mother to take her out.
Local police were informed about the incident on Apr. 28 at a house in the Thepharak 5 community on Pracha Samosorn Road in tambon Nai Mueang of Mueang district at about 2:30pm, Bangkok Post reported.
The girl’s mother, 34, told police she arrived home and told her daughter that they would go out later.
The mother then apparently went into the house to take a rest.
She assumed that her daughter had gone to see her grandmother who lived nearby.
The woman later went outside to her car and saw her daughter lying inside.
She brought the girl out and tried to wake her up.
Rescue workers were called.
However, her daughter was dead by then.
Surveillance footage from the property revealed that the girl entered the door by the rear right door and closed it.
According to local police, no one else was present.
The girl was believed to have suffocated in the heat after being in the car for a long time.
Police are also questioning others before concluding the cause of death.
Police investigations are ongoing.
