Two Chinese tourists, 27-year-old Zou Qintao, and 19-year-old Song Haolong, were arrested over a gold shop robbery in Thailand.
According to Khaosod, the two hatched the robbery plan after running out of money while travelling in the country.
They noted this was in part due to spending heavily on their Thai girlfriends.
Pattaya News detailed the robbery, saying two suspects came in with full-face hoods, long-sleeved black shirts and shorts.
They were armed with a handgun, and hammered several display cases, taking items worth an estimated US$9,000 (S$11,497) to 12,000 (S$15,330).
They were arrested within eight hours.
All the stolen items have been recovered.
