The Housing and Development Board (HDB) will be launching a new build-to-order project right next to Caldecott MRT station in October 2026.

This was announced by Minister for National Development Chee Hong Tat at the ministry’s Committee of Supply debate in Parliament on Mar. 4, 2026.

The project will feature around 1,600 units, including public rental flats, two-room Flexi, four-room flats and the first Community Care Apartments (CCA) in Toa Payoh.

The development will include a new neighbourhood park, as well as commercial facilities, such as a food court and fast-food restaurant, supermarket, retail shops, and a childcare centre, Chee shared.

An Active Ageing Centre will be established to cater to the CCA residents and other seniors from the community, he added.

Residents can also look forward to the upcoming Toa Payoh Integrated Development (Sports and Lifestyle Hub) (TPID) which is expected to be completed by 2030.

Mixed-use development

Plans are also underway for a new mixed-use development in Toa Payoh West.

The mixed-use development will incorporate residential units and a shopping centre, as well as provide residents with new community spaces and contemporary retail options.

“It will be similar in scale as Woodleigh Mall in Bidadari,” Chee said.

Over the next decade, Chee said more than 10,000 additional homes across Toa Payoh West and Mount Pleasant will be launched.

“MND will continue to develop and rejuvenate Toa Payoh and other older estates, as part of our efforts to provide a robust housing supply for Singaporeans,” he added.
