'I don't have money for gas': Thai driver puts pick-up truck up for sale after oil price surge & fuel shortage
The pickup truck was spotted a day after the price hike.
A Thai vehicle owner put up a for sale sign on their pickup truck, citing a lack of money to buy gas.
According to AmarinTV, the silver Isuzu pickup truck was parked outside a gas station in Phang Nga province in southern Thailand.
The piece of paper slotted behind the windscreen wiper read: "Urgent sale, I don't have money for gas", and contact details were included beneath the text.
On Mar. 26, 2026, Thailand experienced a six-baht (S$0.24) per litre price surge, and the pickup truck was spotted a day after.

Oil shortage in Thailand
The oil shortage arising from the Middle East conflict caused the Thai government to end subsidies.
Despite rising prices, fuel continues to sell out fast.
According to Khaosod English, Thailand's Oil Fuel Fund, a government-managed oil shock absorber, is in the red.
To keep prices at the old capped rate of 30 baht per litre, the Thai government was burning 2.59 billion baht (S$101.6 million) a day.
Thailand's government confirmed enough oil stocks to cover demand for more than three months, according to Khaosod English.
Despite this, some gas stations remain closed, reported AmarinTV.
