K-pop group Enhypen's label announced on Mar. 10 that member Heeseung would be leaving the group to focus on his solo activities.

Following the sudden news, fans have taken matters into their own hands by starting a petition and sending protest trucks to Hybe's headquarters in South Korea.

The group's label, Belift Lab, is a subsidiary of entertainment giant Hybe.

Petition

A petition on Change.org called for Heeseung to remain in the group while pursuing solo work.

At the time of writing, it has over 1.5 million signatures.

In the petition, fans said Heeseung is an "essential part" of the group's identity.

Protest trucks

Fans in Singapore have also joined the effort by sending their own protest truck on Mar. 11.

The truck's LED board reads: “We stand by you, Enhypen is always 7. Love, Singapore Engenes.”

A second truck was also sent on Mar. 12.

It has become a common practice in the K-pop fandom to send protest trucks to the groups' agencies as a way to get their voices heard.

Focusing on solo career

In a statement, Belift Lab said that after extensive discussions, it had become clear that Heeseung “has his own distinct musical vision”, which the company respects.

Enhypen will continue as a six-member group, while Heeseung will prepare a solo album under the same label.

Heeseung also penned a handwritten letter to fans, stating that his time in the group “will forever remain as shining memories” and that he will “always be someone who cheers for Enhypen more than anyone else”.

The agency also told Billboard in a statement, “We concluded that allowing Heeseung to focus fully on his career as a solo artist, rather than pursuing solo activities within the team, would be the most fulfilling approach for both Enhypen and Heeseung.”

Fans shocked

The news of the departure has left fans around the world shocked, especially as the group had several upcoming schedules, including performances and fan sign events.

On Mar. 11, fans shared that a video call fan sign involving Heeseung had been postponed, while calls with the other members continued as scheduled.

The group is also set to headline Australia's K-pop festival, "Hello, Melbourne", on Mar. 14.

On Mar. 12, the organiser announced that Heeseung will not be performing.

Speculation has since been brewing among fans, with some accusing the label of mistreatment and questioning the decision.

Formed in 2020 through survival show I-Land, Enhypen has since released hits like Shout Out, No Doubt and Bad Desire (With or Without You).

The group was also in Singapore recently, in October 2025, for a three-night concert.
