Clementi resident can't sleep in on weekends due to pickleball games from 8am-11am
Relentless pik pok pik pok.
A public housing resident in Clementi said her weekend rest has been disrupted after a group of pickleball players began using a court near her block in mid-March 2026.
The woman, who stays on the second floor, told Mothership that she was first woken up by the sound of games and players cheering on Mar. 14.
She lamented: “I had to leave my house to get away before I went crazy from the sound — but why?”
"It’s my safety haven but I’m highly disturbed," she added.
According to the resident, the games typically start at around 8am and continue until about 11am.
Others seemingly affected as well
“The court is very close to our unit, so residents are quite disturbed,” the resident said.
She has since submitted feedback to the town council, but has yet to receive a response.
The resident also noted that the town council has put up a notice calling for players to keep noise level low during racket games.

On the morning of Mar. 21, the woman observed a man attempting to stop the players mid-game.
"We are so disturbed that uncle needs to resort to walking in between their courts to try to stop them from playing. He actually told them to stop, but they ignored him," she said.
"I’ve nothing against the game, but when we keep having irresponsible players who ignore the peace of residents, I feel I need to shame them all."
She added that after a long work week, weekends are meant to be a time to rest, but that has been disrupted by the “loud, irritating” sounds of the sport.

Videos by the resident showed a man walking across the court and gesturing at the surrounding blocks of flats and speaking to a group of eight players.
One of the players appeared to respond, while the others looked on.
Ongoing issue
Noise disturbances linked to pickleball have been increasingly reported across several estates in Singapore following the sport’s surge in popularity in 2025.
In September 2025, a West Coast resident told Shin Min Daily News she was considering moving out of her flat after pickleball games at a nearby badminton court near Block 512 West Coast Drive went on until 2am.
The noise could reportedly be heard from her rented unit on the eighth floor.
In response to such complaints, several community courts across Singapore have revised their operating hours and usage rules.
In the same month, Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council introduced a rule designating the estate's community court strictly for badminton use.
