Warmer conditions are expected in Singapore in the coming week, with daily maximum temperatures reaching 35°C to 36°C, the National Environment Agency (NEA) said via a Mar. 20, 2026 Facebook post.

The agency added that dry and warm conditions over Singapore and the surrounding region from this weekend until the end of next week are expected.

Continued risk of smoke haze

This comes as hotspots with smoke plumes were observed in Central Sumatra and Johor on Mar. 20.

"With the dry conditions and prevailing winds blowing from the northeast, there may be an increase in hotspot activity and a continued risk of smoke haze," the post read.

Monitor situation

It added that the public may refer to the Heat Stress Advisory to make more informed decisions on undertaking prolonged outdoor activities, so as to minimise the risk of heat stress and heat-related illnesses.

"We are monitoring the overall air quality situation and will provide updates if necessary," said NEA.

As of 7pm on Mar. 20, the 24-hour Pollutant Standard Index (PSI) ranged from 45-57, within the Good to Moderate range.

Members of the public may refer to the "myENV" app for real-time information on air quality, heat stress and weather conditions.
