Australian man, 54, arrested for allegedly stealing 2 windbreakers worth S$842 from Changi Airport Terminal 1
Arrested.
The Singapore police have arrested a 54-year-old Australian man for his suspected involvement in a case of shop theft in the transit area of Changi Airport.
On Mar. 17, 2026, at about 9.45am, the police were alerted to a case of shop theft after two windbreakers, valued at a total of S$842.20, were discovered missing from the display shelf of a retail outlet in the transit area of Changi Airport Terminal 1.
With the aid of images from CCTV cameras, officers from the Airport Police Division identified the man who was allegedly observed leaving the outlet with the unpaid items, and arrested him before he could depart Singapore.
The police have also recovered the stolen items from his possession.
The man will be charged in court on Mar. 25, 2026 for the offence of theft in dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code 1871.
The offence carries a penalty of up to seven years imprisonment, a fine, or both.
