Two men, aged 26 and 27, were arrested after they allegedly threw items from upper floors of a residential block in Sembawang in two separate incidents.

No injuries were reported in either case.

Table allegedly thrown from fourth floor

Police said they received a call for assistance at Block 363C Sembawang Crescent at about 10:05am on Mar 23.

Preliminary investigations found that a 26-year-old man had allegedly thrown a wooden table down from the fourth floor.

The table broke upon impact after hitting the ground floor.

Bicycle allegedly thrown from eleventh floor

In a separate incident at the same block, police received another call for assistance at about 1:30am on Mar 24.

A 27-year-old man had allegedly thrown a bicycle down from the eleventh floor.

Both suspects arrested the same day

Officers from the Woodlands Police Division later established the identities of both men and arrested them on the same day the reports were made.

The table and bicycle were seized as case exhibits.

Face jail time if convicted

Both men are expected to be charged in court on Mar 25 with committing a rash act under Section 336(a) of the Penal Code, which carries a penalty of up to six months’ jail and a fine.

The police said they take a serious view of acts that endanger life or personal safety and will take action against those responsible.
