Taiwan man, 46, dies of supposed heart attack upon finding girlfriend dead in hot spring bath
The man reportedly became emotionally distraught after discovering his girlfriend's death.
A 46-year-old Taiwanese man died after reportedly suffering from a heart attack when he found his girlfriend dead in a hot spring bath on Feb. 8, 2026.
The man, Li, was found collapsed outside the bath, Sin Chew Daily reported, adding that he later died despite being rushed to the hospital.
According to investigations, Li apparently suffered a heart attack after becoming emotionally distraught upon discovering that his 46-year-old girlfriend, Guo, was dead.
Heart attack
Police investigations revealed that Li was a parking lot employee at a hot spring restaurant in Taipei City, Sin Chew Daily reported.
Prior to his death, Li arranged for Guo to rest and soak in the hot spring room as it was a Sunday and the restaurant was busy.
Around 5pm, Li's colleague reminded him that Guo had been in there for a while.
Police believe that Li then entered the room, found Guo dead in the hot spring bath and reportedly suffered a heart attack due to excessive emotional distress, after which he subsequently collapsed.
Both died
Following this, police received a report of the incident at 5:53pm, msn.com reported, adding that paramedics arrived to find Li breathing faintly while Guo was already dead.
They then rushed Li to the hospital for emergency treatment, but he was pronounced dead at 7pm.
The families of both Li and Guo have been contacted, according to msn.com.
In addition, forensic investigators who examined the scene found no signs of a struggle or external force.
In light of the two deaths, police will request an autopsy to clarify the exact cause of death.
