M'sia girl, 3, dies after car collides with police car in Ipoh, 3 others injured

A three-year-old girl was killed after a traffic accident involving a car and a police car in Ipoh, Malaysia.

The accident happened along Jalan Ipoh-Lumut road on Feb. 10 at around 3:55pm.

Three others were also injured in the crash.

Ipoh district police chief reportedly said that a 34-year-old woman sustained facial injuries in the crash, according to The Star.

Police said the accident also involved two officers, aged 42 and 48, who sustained injuries to their legs and shoulders, as well as cuts to their eyelids.

Preliminary investigations found that a police patrol car was travelling from Lumut towards Jelapang at the time of the incident.

A woman driving a compact car in the opposite lane is believed to have suddenly lost control of her vehicle, veered into oncoming traffic and collided with the police car.

All four occupants from both vehicles were taken to the hospital for further treatment.

The girl was pronounced dead at 4:32pm while receiving treatment.

The police are investigating the matter.
