A man assaulted a woman on the sixth floor of Lucky Plaza after she allegedly refused a drink he offered her.
According to Shin Min Daily News, the incident took place on the evening of Feb. 8.
The incident first came to public attention after a video of the altercation was posted on Facebook.
The video
In the video, a bald man can be seen following a woman and appearing to strike her twice.
He then attempts to grab her shoulder, but she walks away.
As she moves off, the man kicks her from behind, causing her to fall onto her side.
However, he loses his balance at the same time and falls onto her legs.

In another video of the altercation, filmed at a different angle, the woman can be seen clutching her right hip after the fall, appearing to be in pain.
The man subsequently stands up and tries to kick her again, but misses and falls.
A female bystander is later seen throwing a blue basket from a nearby shop at the man in an apparent attempt to stop the assault.
A male bystander subsequently also intervenes by standing between the man and the woman before the video ends.
Man suspected to be drunk
In an interview with Shin Min, the owner of a clothing store on the sixth floor said the incident took place at around 6pm or 7pm.
She said she was at the shop counter when she heard a commotion and went to investigate.
"I don’t know what the argument was about, but the two kept arguing and it got louder and louder," she said. "It eventually attracted several onlookers".
She added that the man appeared unsteady on his feet, was agitated and shouting, leading her to believe he was drunk.
"I heard he tried to buy the woman a drink, but she refused. His pride must have been hurt, which was why he lost control," she said.
The woman's acquaintances and friends tell Mothership that the two were known to each other, and were purportedly in a relationship.
According to the store owner, the dispute lasted for more than 10 minutes, drew a large crowd and eventually prompted the police to step in.
She added that she had initially tried to step in as the argument was affecting her business, and had asked the pair to stop making a scene to avoid disturbing customers.
However, the man allegedly pushed her away and told her to mind her own business, claiming that he had "spent a lot of money" on the woman.
Several shop owners told Shin Min that the sixth floor of the mall houses several nightclubs and similar establishments, so such disputes are not uncommon.
While arguments and physical altercations occur from time to time, the clothing store owner said this was the most serious incident she had witnessed.
