Woman, 28, shot in the head by boyfriend, 32, day after filing sexual assault report against him

A man in Pennsylvania, U.S., has been arrested on a charge of criminal homicide following an alleged domestic violence incident.

Yujun Ren is believed to have been in a relationship with Yuan Yuan Lu.

In addition to the criminal homicide charge, Ren is also charged with possession of an instrument of crime and stalking.

According to local media, the police said Ren turned himself in on Sunday at around 12:30pm, and led them to a home where the woman was found with a gunshot wound to the head.

Lu's cousin said that she had confided in her about the abusive relationship last week, and she had convinced her to file a report.

She also said that all Lu wanted to do was leave him.

"All she wanted to do was leave. Just to leave him," Truong said, adding that they dated for nearly a year."

According to court documents, Lu told police she had decided to end the relationship, packed her belongings and blocked him.

She also mentioned that she was scared of him and that he carried a gun everywhere.

Evidence showed Ren had begun stalking Lu's vehicle in the morning before fatally shooting her.

Neighbours remembered Lu as a warm and kind person.
