A 25-year-old man will be charged in court on Feb. 25 for dangerous driving.

On Dec. 14, 2025, at about 12:50am, the police were alerted to an incident involving someone driving against the flow of traffic along Bartley Road East towards Tampines Avenue 10.

The car had left the scene by the time the report was lodged.

Officers from the traffic police established the identity of the driver through follow-up investigations and, with the aid of traffic cameras, arrested him for dangerous driving.

Footage

A video of the incident was caught on the dashboard camera of a vehicle travelling along Bartley Road East at the time.

Footage showed the black car, a BMW, going against the flow of traffic for more than two minutes before turning right to Tampines Avenue 1.

Penalties

The offence of dangerous driving carries a fine of up to S$5,000, a jail term of up to 12 months, or both.

In the case of a second or subsequent conviction, the offence carries a fine of up to S$10,000, a jail term of up to two years, or both.

Offenders may also face disqualification from driving all classes of vehicles.

The police said they take a serious view of motorists who engage in dangerous driving behaviour that endangers the safety of other road users and will not hesitate to take firm action against motorists who flout traffic laws.
