The Singapore police are investigating an alleged assault incident at Lucky Plaza on Sunday, Feb. 8.

A man was caught on video kicking a woman, who ended up on the ground in the mall.

The police confirmed on Feb. 12 that they are investigating, and a report had been lodged.

The man could be seen kicking the woman in the back.

He continued kicking her while she was on the ground.

A chair was then thrown at him.

Bystanders intervened, as vulgarities and screams could be heard.

The Philippine Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) previously said in response to the incident that it was filing "necessary legal actions".

Its secretary, Hans Cacdac, said the department is investigating the cause of the incident.

He added, "It's assault, physical assault. It's a crime anywhere in the world, especially in Singapore. We are looking into it and filing the necessary legal actions."
