S'porean man, 41, fined S$580 in M'sia for punching man who allegedly flirted with his wife
The victim denied hitting on the accused's wife.
A Singaporean man was fined RM1,800 (S$580) by a Malaysia court on Jan. 28 after he punched another man for allegedly hitting on his wife.
Romeo Seah Yan Sheng, a 41-year-old father of four, was charged with intentionally causing injury to the 33-year-old victim in the Johor town of Taman Setia Jaya, the New Straits Times reported.
He would have had to serve four months' jail if he did not pay the fine.
What happened
Around 2:30am on Oct. 5, 2025, the victim was in a karaoke room of an entertainment outlet when Seah and four of his friends suddenly barged in.
Seah asked the victim if he had brought Seah's wife with him to the place, and the victim said he did not, according to China Press.
Despite his denial, Seah suddenly punched him in the face, causing him to bleed, then went on to punch the victim's head repeatedly. and the two men got into a scuffle.
As the two men got into a scuffle, the victim fell and hit his head against the table.
It resulted in further bleeding, and the victim had to be treated at a hospital.
Seah pleaded guilty in court and paid his fine after the sentencing.
