Woman faints on NEL, fellow commuter activates emergency button, train stops at Farrer Park MRT station
The incident occurred on Feb. 25, 2026 morning.
A North East Line train bound for Farrer Park MRT station came to a stop on Feb. 25, 2026 morning after a female passenger fainted on the train.
In response, another commuter activated the passenger emergency communication button.
The train subsequently stopped at Farrer Park MRT station, 8world reported.
According to a commuter at the scene, an announcement informed passengers to alight from the train and wait for the next one to continue their commute.
Female passenger fainted
An SBS spokesperson said in response to 8world's queries that on Feb. 25 morning, a commuter who witnessed a female passenger fainting on the train activated the emergency button.
The spokesperson said the train came to a stop at Farrer Park MRT station as a result.
This was to allow staff to board the train and provide assistance to the passenger who had fainted.
The passenger was then sent to the hospital to receive treatment.
Responding to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed that they received a call for assistance at 250 Race Course Road, which is the address of Farrer Park MRT station, at about 9:20am.
SCDF conveyed one person to Raffles Hospital.
