Woman, 38, arrested for causing death while driving in Chinatown accident
Police investigations are ongoing.
A 38-year-old woman has been arrested following the fatal traffic accident in Chinatown on Feb. 6 in which a six-year-old girl died.
Responding to queries from Mothership, a Singapore Police Force (SPF) spokesperson said that the police were alerted to the accident along South Bridge Road at about 11:50am on Feb. 6.
The accident involved a car and two pedestrians.
Two female pedestrians, aged six and 31, were conveyed conscious to the hospital.
The six-year-old subsequently passed away.
A 38-year-old female car driver was arrested for driving without reasonable consideration causing death.
Police investigations are ongoing.
It was previously reported that the pedestrians were tourists from Indonesia and were a mother-daughter pair.
They had been crossing the road together with the father, who walked ahead and was pushing a stroller with their two-year-old child.
