A Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) helicopter was activated on the morning of Feb. 7 to evacuate a crew member from a vessel who required urgent medical attention, amid the force’s ongoing deployment for the Singapore Airshow 2026.

The patient was subsequently flown to Singapore General Hospital (SGH), where they were reported to be conscious and in stable condition upon arrival.

Emergency evacuation carried out by Rescue 10 helicopter

In a Facebook post, the RSAF said its RESCUE 10 H225M Medium Lift Helicopter had been activated in the early morning of Feb. 7 to carry out the medical evacuation from the vessel.

Photographs accompanying the post showed the helicopter arriving at SGH, with RSAF personnel disembarking alongside the patient.

The air force also extended well wishes for the individual’s recovery, while acknowledging both its aircrew and hospital staff for their readiness in responding to emergencies at any hour.

RSAF maintains round-the-clock standby for life-saving missions

The RSAF’s Rescue 10 helicopter is part of the force’s wider search-and-rescue and emergency response capability.

According to the RSAF’s official website, the service remains on continuous 24/7 standby, with Rescue 10 frequently scrambled to evacuate individuals who require immediate medical treatment.

The RSAF added that such missions have included evacuations from civilian vessels operating in waters near Singapore.

The latest mission follows previous instances in which RSAF helicopters have been deployed to evacuate individuals in distress at sea to the hospital.

In an earlier case in 2025, a cruise ship passenger was likewise airlifted ashore for urgent medical care, reflecting the RSAF’s continuing role in supporting emergency response operations beyond purely military duties.
