Holland Village XO Fish Head Bee Hoon selling secret recipe & stall name for S$300,000, price negotiable
Bee hoon.
The 32-year-old Holland Village XO Fish Head Bee Hoon stall at Dover Crescent is looking to sell its signage and secret recipe.
Speaking to Shin Min Daily News, the owner, 80-year-old Liu Chengfu (transliteration), said it's about time for him to move on.
Liu used to be an XO wine salesman before getting into the F&B game back in 1994.
As the name suggests, the stall was initially located at Holland Village, before the owner moved due to increasing rent.
The father of four said his children have their own careers, and are not interested in taking over the business.
This has led him to try to sell his secret recipe and stall name for S$300,000, but he is open to negotiations.
Liu had said in a recent interview that he is proud of the work he has put into the stall.
He shared how he has been at work every day from 10am to 10pm, with a few hours of rest in between.
He would only take four days off every year to celebrate Chinese New Year.
Having poured decades of his life into this craft, Liu wants to enjoy retirement while he is still in good health.
Still, he is aware of the possibility that no one will take him up on his offer.
Liu said he has been trying to find a seller for a while, but to no avail:
"The food business is tough right now, and the market isn't doing well. If I can't find a buyer within the next year or two, I'll just close down."
