6 S'poreans caught littering in JB so far, M'sia minister says: 'We want S'pore to be clean, M'sia even cleaner'

A total of six Singaporeans have been caught littering in public in Johor Bahru, Malaysia so far.
This was after the latest enforcement action was carried out on Jan. 5, 2026 in Johor.
The litterbugs, comprising Singaporeans and other nationalities, were issued composition notices.
According to Bernama, Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said on Jan. 6 in response to the cases: "They thought they could do it, now they cannot. We want Singapore to be clean, Malaysia even cleaner."
This was after he was informed about the latest incidents by the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corporation (SWCorp), which has been conducting inspections.
Background
On Jan. 1, one Singaporean was issued a notice of offence in Larkin Jaya, Johor Bahru on the first day the new anti-littering law was enforced.
On Jan 3, two male Singaporeans were booked for littering in the area around KSL City Mall in Johor Bahru.
