S'pore woman finds chilli in noodles against her wishes, could not take it, files police report
The stallholder had also allegedly given her chicken feet, instead of prawn dumplings.
A woman in Singapore lodged a police report on Jan. 13 after a wanton mee stall in Serangoon allegedly added chilli to her prawn dumpling noodles against her wishes.
Without identifying the stall, the complainant told Stomp that the stall is located at a coffeeshop along Serangoon North Avenue 1.
Allegedly gave wrong food
Speaking to Stomp, the woman said she ordered a bowl of prawn dumpling noodles for takeaway from the stall at around 8:40pm on Jan. 13.
It was apparently the first time she ordered from the stall.
However, when the woman returned home to savour her meal, she found out that the stallholder had apparently given her chicken feet by mistake.
In response, she returned to the stall and asked the stallholder for prawn dumplings.
At one point, the stallholder allegedly asked the woman whether she wanted chilli in her noodles.
The woman claimed she shook her head and her fingers repeatedly to indicate she did not want chilli.
Allegedly put chili against woman's wishes
Later on, when the woman's food was ready, the stallholder allegedly threw it onto the table "very loudly", Stomp reported the woman as saying.
Although the woman was shocked and rolled her eyes at the stallholder, she returned home to enjoy her belated dinner.
However, when she opened the food container and bit into the dumplings, she was surprised to find they were apparently filled with chilli and tasted spicy.
Enraged, the woman said she returned to the stall to confront the stallholder.
Lodged police report
Upon arriving at the stall, the woman found out that it was already closed, and the stallholder was nowhere to be found, reported Stomp.
She then asked a drinks stallholder about the wanton mee stallholder's whereabouts.
When she learnt that he had already left, the woman went to the Serangoon North Neighbourhood Police Post to file her case.
To support her story, she also provided Stomp with a photo of her police case card.
The woman lamented that this encounter had made her lose her appetite, and she ended up eating nothing.
She also said that this would be the last time she would buy from the wanton mee noodle stall.
