The deadly fire that killed 40 and injured over 100 people is currently under investigation.

The bar's owners have been accused by authorities of manslaughter by negligence, bodily harm by negligence and arson by negligence.

Videos of the disaster showed waitresses holding sparklers that allegedly led to the fire.

One of the women identified in the video was 24-year-old Cyane Panine. She was one of the 40 killed in the fire.

According to BBC, the lawyer representing Cyane's family told them Cyane was not "supposed to be serving tables" on the night of the fire.

She had been asked to go down to help manage the high demand for bottles.

The lawyer claims that Cyane had no safety training and had not been informed of the "ceiling's danger".

BBC further reported a source who had seen the inquiry documents telling them that one of the owners had said Cyane had put herself on someone's shoulders "on her own initiative".

Cyane's family lawyer said the employers had requested Cyane wear the helmet, and that she was just doing her job.

"It is shocking to place the responsibility for their own failings on Cyane, a 24-year-old woman and their own employee"

The lawyer also said Cyane was "suffering from her working conditions", and that she herself was a victim.

The BBC has contacted the owner's lawyers for a response.
