M'sian man, 33, allegedly murders wife, 36, & son, 4, in JB home on New Year's Eve

A 36-year-old mother and her four-year-old son were found dead in their Johor Bahru home on the morning of Dec. 31.
The mother was found with slash wounds on her neck, while the son had bluish marks on his face.
The husband and father, a 33-year-old Malaysian doctor, was arrested and charged in court on Jan. 3 for alleged murder.
Mum and son found dead
According to local media The Star and MalayMail, Johor's police chief said that the victims were discovered dead in their home in Bandar Dato Onn by local police at about 8:20am on Dec. 31.
The injuries they were found with were consistent with criminal acts.
The woman, a 36-year-old accountant, had a slash wound on her neck.
The four-year-old boy had "bluish marks on his face believed to be caused by smothering".
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene, and their bodies were sent to the hospital for post-mortem.
Autopsy found that the woman died due to asphyxia-related causes, while the boy died from smothering, local media reported.
Father charged
Following investigations, a 33-year-old doctor, who is the husband and father to the victims, was arrested as a suspect on Jan. 3.
Police also seized several items as part of their investigation, including a knife, a pillow and a pillowcase.
The suspect had no prior criminal record and tested negative for drugs, The Star wrote.
The man faces murder charges, concealing evidence or giving false information relating to a crime and voluntarily obstructing a public servant in the discharge of their duties, Malay Mail reported.
The man was charged in court on Jan. 16.
According to Sin Chew Daily, he arrived at the courthouse clad in a purple detainee garb and was escorted by the police.
