160g of cannabis & 59g of 'Ice' found in children's bedroom in Punggol block, mum, 34, arrested
Her arrest was part of CNB's islandwide anti-drug operation between Jan. 11 and 16.
Around 160g of cannabis and 59g of methamphetamine, commonly known as "Ice", were found in a children's bedroom at a residential unit in Punggol on Jan. 12 afternoon.
The drugs, alongside drug paraphernalia, were found in a plastic box hidden behind the bedroom door, said the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) in a Jan. 16 news release.
The children's mother, a 34-year-old Singaporean woman, was arrested for suspected drug-related offences.
Man spotted disposing box containing drugs by CNB officer
On Jan. 13 morning, CNB officers arrested a 39-year-old Singaporean man for suspected drug offences in his residential unit along Hougang Avenue 5.
A search of the unit recovered a small amount of "ice", five "Ecstasy" tablets, two Erimin-5 tablets, and drug paraphernalia.
Another occupant of the unit, a 55-year-old Singaporean man, was later arrested after CNB officers spotted him throwing a box into a dustbin at the void deck.
After retrieving the box, officers found 19 Erimin-5 tablets inside.
88 arrested in islandwide anti-drug operation
According to CNB, the arrests above were part of an islandwide anti-drug operation launched by the agency between Jan. 11 and 16.
Some of the areas covered included Bedok, Woodlands, Race Course Road, and Telok Kurau.
The operation saw a total of 88 suspected drug offenders arrested.
Around 213g of cannabis, 170g of "Ice", 1g of heroin, five "Ecstasy" tablets, 23 Erimin-5 tablets, vape-related products, including 37 e-vaporiser pods believed to contain etomidate, were seized.
The drugs seized have an estimated worth of over S$23,000.
Additionally, CNB also seized cash totalling S$1,122.05.
Investigations into the drug activities of all arrested suspects are ongoing.
