Crane fall onto train

The incident occurred around 9:45am when the high-speed train struck the construction crane blocking its path.

Emergency medical teams and rescue workers have been working to free trapped passengers using iron cutters.

Photos uploaded on Thailand's Fire & Rescue Facebook page showed the extent of the train wreckage due to the impact.

The rescue operation is said to be difficult due to the overlap of the crane and the train's structure.
