Taiwan metro receives Dec. 22 bomb threat after knife attack, security measures strengthened

Taiwan’s metro system reportedly received a bomb threat and security measures have been fully strengthened.

Citing Taiwanese news outlet Central News Agency, 8world reported that Taiwan Railways Administration received a tip-off at around 10pm on Dec. 21, warning that a bomb would be placed and detonated in Taiwan's metro system at 1:30pm on Dec. 22.

Other media reports also stated other threats had been lodged following the Taipei knife attack. Which has led to multiple arrests.

The administration emphasised that it has comprehensively strengthened security measures at Taipei, Taichung, and Tainan metro systems, as well as at all the stations connected to the metro systems.
