He allegedly threw a stone and smashed a car's windshield after a lane-change dispute.
The 44-year-old rider of a Singapore-registered motorcycle has been arrested following a road rage incident in Johor on Dec. 1.
He had allegedly thrown a stone at a moving car on a highway, smashing its windshield in the process.
Suspect arrested
Iskandar Puteri police chief M. Kumarasan told Malaysian media that after the report was lodged by the driver, the 44-year-old man was arrested in Johor Bahru on Dec. 2 at 7:30pm.
He is a Malaysian working as a technician in Singapore, said Kumarasan.
The man's motorcycle has also been seized by the police.
Kumarasan said the man has no past criminal records and tested negative on a drug test.
The suspect has been remanded for four days.
The case is being investigated for committing mischief, as well as reckless and dangerous riding.
Background
The passenger of the car previously claimed on social media that on Dec. 1, the rider raised his middle finger at their car and hit the side mirror.
This apparently took place after the driver honked at him for abruptly changing lanes on the Pasir Gudang Highway in Johor.
A video shared by the passenger showed the motorcyclist speeding behind the car before throwing a stone at the car's rear window.
He also allegedly pointed the middle finger at them, the passenger said.
