SIA passenger laments lack of preferred chicken meal on 13-hour flight as he sat in 2nd-last row
'Chicken or fish, sir?' didn't apply to him.
A Singapore Airlines passenger has come under scrutiny after taking to TikTok to share about not receiving his preferred meal choice aboard a 13-hour flight from London to Singapore.
In his photo post, titled "Bad experience on a Long Flight", user @hanxooy bemoaned the lack of meal choice due to him being seated at the second-last row.
When meal service rolled around and the trolley came forth, the classic "chicken or fish, sir" question was nowhere to be found.
The braised chicken dish he was anticipating had been devoured by the passengers before him, and he was left with the fish option.
He stated that everyone in front of him got to choose, while those who were last to be served were not given a meal choice.
Passenger had upset stomach
@hanxooy said he had "no problem with the service of the airline", and only took issue with the meal choice.
He wrote that he had "an upset stomach throughout the flight", which could not be suppressed with the biscuits or snacks provided.
He also stated that he was hungry and unable to sleep as a result of his meal choice.
The passenger warned others to "always be prepared" because there is a possibility that not every option posted on the flight menu would be served.
Venting his frustration, he typed that it was an oversight on Singapore Airlines' part.
"I am just frustrated because they have all the time to prepare meals as they already knew how many passengers onboard ahead of time. I know I was served a meal but it was neither my choice nor have I an appetite for a fish and horseradish for breakfast."

'I am disappointed that we are at a disadvantage.'
The passenger concluded his post by stating that this was his "personal experience and opinion".
"As one of the passengers seated at the last rows, I am disappointed that we are at a disadvantage."
Netizens were quick to chime in with varying opinions of their own.
Most provided a realistic breakdown of how the meal allocation was managed.
