M'sian airports 'fully restored' after 2-hour delay due to system disruption
The system has been 'fully restored'.
A glitch in a global passenger processing system utilised by many airlines worldwide resulted in delayed check-in and boarding processes at Malaysian airports.
On Dec. 23, 2025 at 11:29am, Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad took to Facebook to report on the temporary disruption stating that the affected airlines' contingency procedures had been activated.
The post also included that self-service kiosks were fully operational and that passengers could print boarding passes and baggage tags.
Malaysia Airports also advised travellers to follow guidance from the airline and airport teams.
The page provided a second update at 1:42pm, stating that "the system provider has fully restored the global passenger processing system" and that its airports have "resumed normal operations".
The company thanked travellers for their patience and added that "airport and airline teams will continue to monitor the situation to ensure smooth processing".
The delays come amid the busy holiday and year-end season.
