The severed head and limbs of an infant have been found in the freezer of an adult entertainment business in Tokyo, Japan.
According to The Japan Times, the victim was estimated to be under a year old, though the gender remains unknown.
Police are investigating the case as mutilation and abandonment of a corpse.
Body found by employee
The discovery was made at an out-call service provider for sex workers in Tokyo's Sumida Ward, near Kinshicho Station, on Dec. 6, police said.
According to employees in neighbouring businesses, the premises are supposedly used as a waiting room for sex workers and the area was described as a "rough neighbourhood".
A male worker had reportedly made an emergency report at about 9pm after he found what appeared to be the head of an infant, wrapped in a plastic bag, while cleaning out the business' refrigerator.
Upon further investigation, police also found the infant's arms and legs in a plastic food container underneath the head.
The torso remains missing.
The site of the discovery has been cordoned off while investigations continue, The Japan Times reported.
No arrests have been made to date.
