Video footage of a group of men pocketing shirts in a Bali store surfaced after the shop owner discovered that items were missing.
According to a post on X, the Balinese shop owner discovered he was missing 11 clothing items.
He then checked the cameras and discovered that a group of Japanese tourists had stolen them.
In the uploaded video, three men were seen browsing and occasionally sneaking items into their bags.
They would look around to make sure no one was watching before shoving the items into their bag.
A fourth man joined the trio and also pocketed an item.
They can be heard speaking in Japanese as well.

Rising crime rates
In July 2025, The Guardian reported that crime rates were rising in Bali.
“The quality of tourists coming to Bali is decreasing," Bali politician Agung Bagus Pratiksa Linggih said.
This, he added, is due to the increase in illegal homestays, which allow foreigners to stay longer on the island.
The percentage of foreigners involved in crime has increased by 16 per cent, from 194 in 2023 to 226 in 2024.
Offences range from cybercrime and narcotics to violent crime and land fraud.
